SUDS 4 STUDENTS

West Valley Middle School is participating in a  “SUDS 4 STUDENTS”  campaign.  We are seeking donations of hygiene and laundry products for families in need.

SUDS4Students is a non profit focused on discreetly meeting the hygiene needs of middle and high school students that otherwise wouldn’t have access to the products that they need.  If parents have to choose between food and deodorant, food and shampoo, food and laundry detergent, or food and other hygiene items… Food Wins! When families have to prioritize basic needs, food will be at the top, and hygiene items will move further down or even off the list. Simply put, this means there are children that go to school everyday that have had to compromise or not meet basic hygiene practices that most of us take for granted everyday.

SUDS4Students partners with local schools to provide specific personal hygiene items and laundry detergent to middle and high school students that may otherwise not have access to these. Items include: laundry detergent, soap, tooth paste, tooth brushes, shampoo, and deodorant.

Please consider donating items.  There is a collection box in the main hallway.  West Valley students have set a goal of 1000 items and if our goal is reached students will be allowed to participate in a hat day! Please help out with this worthy cause.

Battle of the Grades Update

Thank you to each and every member of the WVMS family that participated in this year’s “Battle of the Grades” fundraising campaign.  The results are in and the winner is the 7th grade!  The totals were the following:

7th Grade = $7,800

6th Grade = $4,800

8th Grade = $1,800

The overall winner, of course, is our whole school because our students and staff will directly benefit from these generous donations.  On behalf of the WVMS Foundation Board, the Battle of the Grades Committee, and the WVMS Student Council, we sincerely appreciate your direct efforts to share your treasures and gifts with our wonderful staff and students.  More information about how these funds will be used and about how you can get involved/support our annual spring event will be coming soon.
