Be sure to purchase your yearbook recognition ad! These ads are in the back of the yearbook and are designed to celebrate your student’s success during their middle school years. Please visit https://www.jostens.com to build and purchase your ad. The deadline to purchase a yearbook ad is Friday, December 14***

It’s time to order yearbooks!  There are two ways to order, online or directly through the school.  For online orders, please visit: https://www.jostens.com . You can follow the simple prompts to get to the West Valley Middle School Knoxville TN page (NOTE: There is a West Valley Middle in San Jose, California, too).  If you plan to order through the school please find the order form link below that you can download and fill out and send to the school with your child.  The cost for a basic yearbook is $55.  Please make checks payable to JOSTENS.  Remember, as in years past, we will NOT be ordering extra yearbooks.  Please reserve yours today!

*Our 8th grade orchestra has been entered into the B97.5 school music contest. Follow the link below and vote for our orchestra. We could win $1000! You can now help determine the winner by voting Monday, November 26 at 8am through Friday, December 14 at 5pm. You can vote once each day so be sure to check in often on your school’s band or choir performing their Christmas favorite!

For more information, view the Official Rules. Thanks for your support!

Scarves, Hats, and Gloves Drive!!!

December 3rd ~ December 19th

Student Council is sponsoring a collection drive for scarves, gloves and hats.  These items will be donated to Knoxville Pays It Forward, who will distribute them to homeless shelters! They can be gently used or new! Adult sizes  please. All items can be dropped off in the main hallway near the Second Harvest canned food items.  In addition, Student Council will gladly take other winter items you may want to donate such as coats, winter jackets, socks, and hot hands.  Thank you!

Do you have any of these supplies laying around your house that you want to share with the Maker Community at WVMS? CLICK THE LINK BELOW.  Every child, member and parent can have access to these materials for making new things. Our Maker Monday events are from 3:30-5pm every Monday and the Maker areas will also be open from 7:35-8:20am each morning and until at 5pm on Mondays and Friday afternoons. We are in the process of organizing supplies in several of the library rooms for student access and use. The goal is to have areas for student/staff/class use by the end of January. Thank you for your help with this!  Any questions?  Feel free to call me or send me an email.  Janet Getz  865- 539-5145 janet.getz@knoxschools.org

A great big thank you to everyone who sent in boxtops! Our next drive begins now. You may send your boxtops in a Ziplock, 50/bag to the front office or to your student’s homeroom teacher. Please submit by February 1st.

We would like to thank Julio Arana and Gary Taylor for their commitment to serving their community and the WVMS students. It is greatly appreciated and does not go unnoticed. They have both been committed to the clinic for the last year and a half every single week.

We are beyond grateful for their time and dedication to our school.

The School Clinic is in need of volunteers. If interested, please contact Kelsey Mitchellkelsey@graymitchell.com
