WVMS PTSA 2017 Holiday Boutique
The WVMS PTSA Sixth Annual Holiday Boutique will be held on
Saturday, October 28, 2017!!
The holidays are almost here! Get your shopping done early by supporting local vendors and crafters while helping raise money for our school. Our 6th Annual Holiday Boutique will be held on Saturday, October 28th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and our Bake Sale and “Teacher Experience” Auction will be held the same day, from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.
We will have vendor booths, gift drawings, “Teacher Experiences” to bid on, food truck catering, a bake sale, student vendors, and so much more!! This is a family fun event you won’t want to miss. All vendor table fees, donations, and proceeds go directly back to our West Valley Middle School students.

Holiday Boutique Volunteers
We are so excited about the Holiday Boutique and could really use some help with set-up; hospitality; greeters; assisting vendors; and clean-up! Please sign up for a time slot to help with this great event.
West Valley Middle School is proud to participate in the National PTA® Reflections program and has had several students recognized by County, Tennessee and National PTAs.

The PTSA will be collecting Box Tops throughout the school year. If you have any you would like to send in, please either bring them into the school office or have your child turn them in to their homeroom teacher.
The final deadline for boxtops for this school year will be Friday, February 26.
**Please note that we are not collecting Labels for Education.
Please check the expiration date of your Box Tops before sending them in.
Please make sure to indicate child’s name and homeroom on bag or envelope submitted so they receive credit.

The school clinic is in need of the following items: New underwear, sizes: Kids 12 and 14/16, Women’s x-small, small and medium.

Treats for Troops
Treats for Troops is a yearlong Student Council project that’s aimed at providing treats for those that serve our country. If you are able to donate any non-meltable snacks please send them into school after each break (Fall, Holiday, and Spring) and the Student Council will make sure that are passed along to our troops.
Note: It takes 2 weeks for items to reach the base and they need to be donated in boxes.
Examples of treats: Goldfish, peanut butter crackers, beef jerky, energy bars, gum, mints
Teacher’s Pet Contest
Student council will be sponsoring The Teacher’s Pet Contest. All donations will go directly to the Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley. Seven teachers have volunteered their pets for the contest. The pictures of the pets will be displayed in the hallway outside the cafeteria. Students will vote on their choice to win by bringing in pet supplies from the list below. Different items have different point values. The pet with the most points wins! Contest will run from October 23rd to October 31st.

• Purina One Dog Food- Large bag – 20 pts
• Purina One Dog Food- Small bag- 10 pts
• Purina One Puppy Food- Large Bag- 20 pts

• Purina One Kitten – 20 pts
• Animal Toys- 10 pts each
• Animal Beds – 30 pts

• New or Gently Used Supplies such as leashes, collars, etc.- 15 pts each

It’s time to order your yearbook! If you send in an order to the school, your student can give it to his/her homeroom teacher or send it to Ms. Webster. Yearbooks are $55. Remember, as in years past, we will NOT be ordering

November is National Novel Writing Month
NaNoWriMo – is National Novel Writing Month. Students who decide to participate should:
1. Get a permission form in the library or from their ELA teacher
2. Sign up on the online classroom
3. Come to the three meetings in October or get the information from the library website
4. Set up your goals for a daily writing word count
5. Come to a Start off Celebration October 31st after school in the library
6. Write all month (November)
7. Revise with help later
